single skateboard lesson
Our Single Group Skateboard Lesson is aimed at students who would like to give skateboarding a try before committing to monthly lessons. In this lesson, you will learn the following:
- Skateboard Balance
- Pushing with the right foot
- Basic Turning
- Stopping
This is a single 60-minute lesson in one of our group sessions. After this lesson, students will need to book our Beginner Level 1 lesson below.
All lessons include the use of our loan Skateboards, Helmets and Protective gear.
BEGINNER SKATEBOARD LEVEL 1
Duration: 4 Weeks (1 x 60 minute lesson per week).
This is where the journey starts and it is aimed at those who have never skated before or are not confident with ANY of the following:
- Stance & Balance
- Pushing (correct - pushing with back foot.)
- Turning (carving turns), Axel turns Frontside and backside
- Tic-tac
- Roll up & down ramps
- Board Flip (first trick)
At the end of the 4 weeks, students will attend a grading session to determine if they are able to proceed to Beginner Level 2.
If the student does not pass, they will need to take Beginner Level 1 again and our coaches will spend the next 4 weeks with them on the aspects that they need to improve on to pass the next grading.
beginner Skateboard level 2
With Level 2 we start the journey towards becoming a confident park and ramp/transition skater, we will still be working on some street skating aspects, but our core focus is on ramp and park:
- Manuals
- Riding off banks (forwards and backwards)
- Pumping
- Backside Kickturns
- Frontside Kickturns
- Drop in (3ft mini ramp)
- Rock Fakie (3ft mini ramp)
- Tail Stall (3ft Mini Ramp)
- Powerslides
- Boneless
- Plus many more tricks and techniques on the mini ramp
At the end of the 8 weeks, students will attend a grading session to determine if they are able to proceed to Beginner Level 3.
If the student does not pass, they will need to take Beginner Level 2 again and our coaches will spend the next 8 weeks with them on the aspects that they need to improve on to pass the next grading.
beginner skateboard Level 3
Skaters at this level need to be fairly confident in skating transitions (mini ramps). From this point forward we will be concentrating 80% of our work on getting our students to a point where they can shred the halfpipe:
- Ollie
- No comply
- Shovits
- 50-50 Stalls
- Slash grinds
- Rock and Rolls
- Drop in (4ft Mini Ramp)
- Plus many more tricks and techniques on the mini ramp
At the end of the 8 weeks, students will attend a grading session to determine if they are able to proceed to Intermediate Level 1.
If the student does not pass, they will need to take Beginner Level 3 again and our coaches will spend the next 8 weeks with them on the aspects that they need to improve on to pass the next grading.
intermediate Skateboard level 1
In our Intermediate lessons we concentrate solely on ramp skating (some street elements will be learned, but this will be to bring them to the ramp). Students will be taken through both practical and theory to advance their skating. Below are just some of the things we will be working on:
- ollie variations (on and off ledges, 180 frontside and backside, transition ollies plus more)
- All Beginner-level tricks on 4ft mini ramp
- Boardslides (ramp and street)
- Grind variations (ramp and street)
- Early Grab Airs (4ft and 5ft mini)
- Plus many more tricks and techniques on the mini ramp
At the end of the 8 weeks, students will attend a grading session to determine if they are able to proceed to Intermediate Level 2.
If the student does not pass, they will need to take Intermediate Level 1 again and our coaches will spend the next 8 weeks with them on the aspects that they need to improve on to pass the next grading.
intermediate skateboard Level 2
In our Intermediate lessons we concentrate solely on ramp skating (some street elements will be learned, but this will be to bring them to the ramp). Students will be taken through both practical and theory to advance their skating. Below are just some of the things we will be working on:
- Kickflips
- Late grab airs
- Inverts
- Half Cab Rock Fakie
- Frontside & Backside Ollie
- Ollie over hips & Banks
- Full Cab Rocks
- Ollie Disaster (frontside and backside)
- Plus many more tricks and techniques on the mini ramp
At the end of the 8 weeks, students will attend a grading session to determine if they are able to proceed to Our Skate Academy Lessons.
Students in this level must have their own gear as they need to be practicing more than just once a week.
If the student does not pass, they will need to take Intermediate Level 2 again and our coaches will spend the next 8 weeks with them on the aspects that they need to improve on to pass the next grading.

We offer a personalized experience, tailoring our instruction to the tricks that our students want to learn, while also introducing additional techniques to enhance their skating abilities.
